From "Saved" to Endangered Again:

Henry Hobson Richardson's home in Brookline is once again facing an extremely uncertain future. In mid-November Preservation Massachusetts was made aware of a demolition application for three properties in Brookline, including 25 Cottage Street where Richardson lived and worked. In 2004, the property was listed to our Massachusetts Most Endangered Historic Resources List, and PM worked with local advocates and preservation partners to find a viable preservation solution for the renowned architects home. From an architectural charrette in 2006 to a listing on the National Trust for Historic Preservation's 11 Most Endangered List, support for preserving the property was felt far and wide.

And there is need for that support again. Preservation Massachusetts has prepared a letter supporting the full imposition on an 18 month demolition delay on the property, as it is in a National Register District. PM fully intends on supporting and working collaboratively with partners and local advocates once again to truly protect and ensure the home of one of America's greatest architects is not lost.
