All You Need Is... Belief!
Membership Month 2019
When you believe in something, you start to make it a reality. Looking at a building, in dire need of repair, reuse and of course "love", believing it is possible is the first step. Though it is daunting, it is a critical step. Clinton Church Restoration, Inc. (CCR, Inc.) in Great Barrington has incredible and unwavering belief in the future of the Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church. This historic church was the center of the the town's African American community for over 130 years and the only extant building remaining associated with the childhood of W.E.B. Du Bois, often called the "architect of the civil rights movement". No longer actively used, the church was on the market and facing an uncertain future. The community rallied and raised $100,000 to purchase the church in 2017.
