The 2017 Massachusetts Historic Preservation Conference took place on Friday, September 22 and by all accounts, it was a tremendous success! We were welcomed with open arms to Lowell for a day of education, inspiration, motivation and strengthening our collective preservation community.

Many thanks to all of our attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers and of course our generous local hosts, the Lowell National Historical Park, the Lowell Historic Board and the City of Lowell.

Whether it was learning about how to communicate with local advocates effecitvely, how to finance a small project, or about rising water and its impact on historic resources, our initial feedback from attendees was that the sessions were informative and helpful. Not to mention the great tours that included buses, trolleys and canal boats, courtesy of the National Park Service, who even offered free lunchtime boat rides.

We are grateful to all who participated and helped to make this day possible.

Be sure to visit the conference webpage to see the archive of session presentations (in case there was something you missed while taking notes!)

We also have a gallery of pictures on our Flickr page and be sure to share your conference pictures on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, using #MHPC2017 and tagging @preservationmass!

Now the brainstorming starts for 2019.....
