#TBT: Ventfort Hall in Lenox

#TBT to (again), 1993 and the listing of Venfort Hall in Lenox on the Massachusetts Most Endangered Historic Resources List. Threatened with demolition to make way for a nursing home development, in 1994 the Ventfort Hall Association was formed. They raised funds through donations and loans from the National Trust for Historic Preservation and in 1997 purchased the property. Ventfort Hall is now the Gilded Age Museum and has undergone exterior restoration work, made possible through several preservation grants.

Hard work, dedication and vision has ensured this gem in the Berkshires remains and offers a fantastic glimpse into life in the "Gilded Age". Ventfort Hall is open year round for tours and hosts events, concerts and "tea talks". If you're out in the Berkshires this summer, be sure to make Ventfort Hall Mansion and Gilded Age Museum a stop on your visit! Visit Ventfort Hall Online!
