The Circuit Rider Program was launched in 2007. A collaboration between the National Trust for Historic Preservation (NTHP) and Preservation Massachusetts, the program places three part-time professionals “in the field.” These Circuit Riders are tasked with bringing the programs, services, knowledge and resources of both PM and the NTHP to aid community-based preservation activity statewide, and they meet with people in various communities, especially those areas of our state who are currently underserved in terms of preservation expertise.

How does the program work?

The Circuit Riders will be equipped to bring the programs, services, knowledge, and resources of both PM and NTHP to aid community-based preservation activity statewide.

What can the Circuit Riders do for you?

Through investigative visits, consultations and meetings, they:

  • Help to define relevant issues and develop preservation strategies; and
  • Empower preservation efforts through building local capacity and resource networks.

Who are the Circuit Riders?

The Massachusetts Circuit Riders are preservation professionals trained to bring the relevant and necessary resources to local groups and communities.
